By accessing and using KnowBali ("the App"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
KnowBali is a community marketplace platform that connects users in Bali with local services, businesses, events, and community Q&A. The App includes:
- AI-powered concierge (Bli) for recommendations
- Directory of local listings and services
- Community Q&A forum
- Reputation and leaderboard system
- Event listings and discovery
3. User Accounts
3.1 Account Creation
To use certain features, you must create an account with a valid email address. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
3.2 Account Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information
- Keep your account information updated
- Not share your account with others
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
4. User Content
4.1 Content You Post
You retain ownership of content you post (questions, answers, listings, images). By posting, you grant KnowBali a license to display, distribute, and use your content within the App.
4.2 Content Guidelines
You agree not to post content that:
- Is illegal, harmful, or violates any laws
- Is defamatory, harassing, or abusive
- Contains spam, scams, or misleading information
- Infringes on intellectual property rights
- Contains personal information of others without consent
- Is sexually explicit or inappropriate
4.3 Moderation
We reserve the right to review, moderate, edit, or remove any content that violates these terms. Listings require admin approval before being publicly visible.
5. Service Listings
5.1 Listing Requirements
When creating a service listing, you must:
- Provide accurate and truthful information
- Include clear contact details (WhatsApp preferred)
- Use appropriate images that represent your service
- Select the correct category and area
5.2 Listing Visibility
Listings are visible for 25 days after activation. You can reactivate expired listings. We reserve the right to reject or remove listings that violate our guidelines.
5.3 User Interactions
Users may contact listing owners via WhatsApp. We track interactions for response time feedback to help other users. We are not responsible for transactions between users and listing owners.
6. Community Guidelines
6.1 Respectful Communication
Be respectful and constructive in community discussions. Helpful answers earn reputation points and badges.
6.2 Verified Answers
Answers may be verified by our AI system (Bli) for accuracy. Verified answers receive bonus reputation points and badges.
6.3 Reporting
You can report inappropriate content or behavior. We will review reports and take appropriate action.
7. Reputation System
KnowBali uses a reputation system to encourage quality contributions:
- Earn points by posting helpful answers, creating listings, and contributing to the community
- Climb tiers: Island Newcomer → Helpful Local → Trusted Expert → Community Legend
- Earn badges for achievements (e.g., Truth Seeker for verified answers)
- Leaderboard rankings are public
8. AI Concierge (Bli)
Our AI concierge provides recommendations based on available data. Bli's responses are generated by AI and should be used as guidance, not absolute fact. Always verify important information independently.
9. Prohibited Activities
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any illegal purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or other users' accounts
- Interfere with or disrupt the App's operation
- Use automated systems to scrape or collect data
- Impersonate others or provide false information
- Spam or harass other users
10. Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, features, and content (except user-generated content), is owned by KnowBali and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
11. Disclaimers
11.1 Service Availability
We strive to keep the App available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The App may be unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or technical issues.
11.2 Third-Party Services
The App may link to external services (e.g., WhatsApp, Google Maps). We are not responsible for the content or practices of third-party services.
11.3 User Transactions
We are not a party to transactions between users and listing owners. We do not guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of listed services. Users interact at their own risk.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, KnowBali shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.
13. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time through the App settings.
14. Changes to Terms
We may modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
15. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Indonesia, where KnowBali operates.
